Arif Alvi’s wife and son filed a petition with the Sindh High Court against the sealing of a dentistry facility.
The family of the former president submitted a request to unseal their dentistry clinic situated in the affluent Sindhi Muslim Society district of Karachi.
The petition asserts that the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) sealed the clinic as an act of political retribution.
Barrister Ali Tahir, representing the petitioners, asserted that Dr. Arif Alvi is being subjected to harassment only for political reasons.
The petition emphasized that the dental clinic has been in business for some years and that no prior notification was provided before its sealing, which is considered an unlawful act.
On Thursday night, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) closed a dentistry business owned by former President of Pakistan Arif Alvi.
Insiders disclosed that the dentistry clinic, situated in the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society (SMCHS), was allegedly founded in a residential home, prompting the intervention.
The operation was conducted under the oversight of Assistant Director Shakeel Jamali.
The SBCA determined that the clinic’s operation in a residential zone contravened construction laws, resulting in its closure.
