Arriving in Pakistan on June 3 is an ICAO safety team.

From June 3 to June 13, Pakistan will host an ICAO team for a flight safety and maintenance audit, as confirmed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

In addition to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) headquarters, the ICAO team will visit Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

The crew is going to examine the airport’s security setup and the CAA’s guidance services.

After a year-long prohibition that began in July 2021, Pakistan is requesting permission from the ICAO to resume flights to Europe and the UK.

After the plane disaster in Karachi on May 20, 2022, and the then-aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar’s claim that almost 40% of Pakistani pilots have fictitious licenses, regulations were put in place.

Prior to this, there was news that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had “begun” preparing for flights to the United Kingdom (UK).

An evaluation of the CAA and PIA’s licensing, flight safety, airworthiness, and standards was conducted by a team from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) during their visit to Pakistan.

The PIA has decided to run 22 flights each week for the kingdom in the hopes of receiving approval for the UK flights.
