The President’s Secretariat News Wing said in a news release on Saturday that the President will bestow the civic award in accordance with Article 259(2) of the Constitution.

According to the constitutional provision, the president has the authority to grant civil honors to Pakistani citizens as a way to acknowledge their exceptional contributions in various areas of life.

In accordance with the President’s instructions, the Aiwan-e-Sadr sent a letter to the Cabinet Division regarding this matter.

President Zardari commended Arshad Nadeem for his exceptional accomplishment, which has brought great honor to the nation in the realm of sports.

Arshad Nadeem achieved the historic distinction of being the inaugural individual gold medalist for Pakistan in the Olympics.
