As a car falls into a gorge in Kohistan, three people die.
The unfortunate car, which was travelling from Bajaur to Gilgit, crashed into a steep gorge at Khokiyal Jijal in Lower Kohistan, according to Rescue 1122. The driver lost control of the vehicle because of the treacherous road conditions.
The Rescue 1122 team quickly arrived at the location and got to work after obtaining the information. Following several efforts, the bodies of three people were recovered from the wreckage of the car by locals who had also joined the rescue operation.
Following that, the bodies were moved to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Patan for the medicolegal process. The three individuals, according to the police, were all from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district.
Hayat Muhammad, son of Rehman Sayyed, Amanullah, son of Abdul Haq, and Qari Abdul Majid, son of Abdur Rehman, were named among the deceased.
A passenger coaster near the Azad Pattan Pana Bridge in Rawalakot had earlier crashed into a canyon, leaving at least 23 people dead and one injured.
Commissioner Rawalakot stated that the coaster was involved in an accident while it was travelling from Rawalpindi to Rawalakot.
At least seven labourers lost their lives on August 19 when a car in Gilgit Baltistan’s Chilas district crashed into a ditch.
Their car plunged into a gully close to the Karakoram Highway, killing seven workmen at the Diamer Bhasha Dam and badly injuring one more.
The Mazda vehicle carrying the workmen at Diamer Bhasha Dam lost control and plummeted down the ravine, as reported by the police.
It was revealed that the deceased were Yousuf, Ehsanullah, Muhibullah, Sajjad, and Mujeebullah.
