As pollution levels decline, restrictions loosen in Lahore.
All of Punjab’s schools, with the exception of those in Lahore and Multan, have reopened as of today.
After dominating the list of the world’s most polluted cities for a number of days, Lahore’s toxic smog has decreased, and the city now ranks third on the Air Quality Index (AQI).
The local government has loosened regulations, and all restaurants and motels are now open until ten o’clock at night. Up until 10:00 PM, restaurants will offer dine-in and takeaway options.
Additionally, the bakery is not required to close at 8:00 PM and is permitted to remain open until 10:00 PM.
Nonetheless, the order to close stores and marketplaces will not be lifted until November 24.
After the air levels in Punjab decreased, the environment department issued new guidelines. In order to ease the smog-related instructions, the commissioners and deputy commissioners were instructed to carry out the directives.
Authorities have taken a number of actions to reduce the pollution in the air, but bad air still plagues Lahore and a number of other Punjabi cities.
Additionally, the Punjab government said that schools up to the upper secondary level will be closed in the province’s smog-affected regions till November 24.
The decision was taken because the province is dealing with extreme air pollution that has reached dangerous heights and is having an impact on public health.
For days, Lahore has been engulfed in haze, a mixture of fog and pollution brought on by winter cooling, smoke from seasonal agricultural burning, and low-grade diesel fumes.
