As the PECA proceedings continue, the LHC notifies the federal government.

In response to a petition contesting the amendment to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), the Lahore High Court (LHC) sent notifications to the federal government and other authorities on Wednesday.
The plea was heard by the LHC’s Justice Farooq Haidar.
The PECA Bill was submitted without consulting the appropriate stakeholders and journalistic organizations, according to the petition, which was filed through a journalistic organization.
It claimed that the freedom of expression protected by the Constitution would be negatively impacted if the PECA were approved.
Additionally, according to the petition, the PECA violated the Constitution’s provision of freedom of expression.
The petition asked that the PECA be deemed invalid and that all actions made in accordance with it be contingent on the petition’s outcome.
In order to get their answers about the petition contesting the PECA change, the LHC subsequently sent letters to the federal government and other authorities.
