Asia Cup 2025: In a lopsided match, Pakistan defeats Oman by 93 runs

In Friday’s Asia Cup fourth encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan easily defeated Oman by 93 runs.
After winning the toss, Pakistan chose to bat first and bowled out Oman for just 67 in 16.4 overs after scoring 160 for 7 in their allocated 20 overs.
Pakistan’s leading scorer, Mohammad Haris, hit seven fours and three sixes in a fluid 66 off 43 deliveries. After an early setback when Saim Ayub was out for a golden duck in the first over, his innings served as the foundation for Pakistan’s total. Mohammad Nawaz contributed a quick 19 from 10 deliveries, and Sahibzada Farhan scored 29 from 29 balls. Oman’s best bowler was Aamir Kaleem, who finished with 3 for 31 from four overs. Shah Faisal, who took 3 for 34, also showed promise.
Oman found it difficult to counter Pakistan’s well-organized bowling attack. Faheem Ashraf and Sufiyan Muqeem both took two wickets, while Muqeem gave up just seven runs in his three overs. During his two-over period, Saim Ayub also took 2 for 8. Hammad Mirza led Oman in scoring with 27, but except from Shakeel Ahmed, who scored 10, none of the other batters reached double figures. Ten wickets fell in 16.4 overs as the innings came to an end at 67.
Abrar Ahmed and Shaheen Shah Afridi were among the wickets taken by Pakistan’s bowling squad, which kept control of the innings. Oman never bounced back from the early blows and lost wickets at regular intervals, falling to 49 for 6 at the midway point.
Pakistan’s net run rate in the tournament standings increased significantly as a result of this outcome.
