Australian High Commissioner and Interior Minister Naqvi spoke about increased security and immigration cooperation.

Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Thursday to talk about Pakistan-Australia relations and the advancement of bilateral collaboration in a number of areas.
Both parties talked about enhancing cooperation in border control, human trafficking prevention, and coast guard operations at the meeting.
The recent unfortunate events that resulted in the deaths of security personnel and police officers in terrorist assaults were lamented by the Australian High Commissioner.
Noting that the city has seen notable progress, he also commended Minister Naqvi’s leadership in welfare and development initiatives in Islamabad and the rehabilitation work done on Gaddafi Stadium.
Neil Hawkins stated he had a great experience in Pakistan and that his favorite spot was the shrine of Bibi Pak Daman in Lahore. He said that in recent years, Pakistan’s prestige and position abroad had greatly increased.
Pakistan is dedicated to preventing illegal immigration and fostering lawful migration routes, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated on this occasion. He underlined that the government is aggressively addressing those involved in human trafficking and that individuals who return after illegal migration will face severe legal consequences.
Minister Naqvi wished Neil Hawkins luck in his future undertakings and praised the Australian High Commissioner’s efforts to improve bilateral relations.
Senior representatives from the Australian High Commission, Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry also attended the meeting.
