Azam Nazeer Tarar, the law minister, dismisses the idea of holding early elections.

In a statement, Azam Nazeer Tarar reaffirmed the government’s adherence to constitutional responsibilities and stressed that the elections will take place according to the planned schedule.

Tarar emphasised that the assembly’s five-year tenure is expressly stated in the constitution, dispelling any rumours or conjecture concerning early elections. According to him, everything is going according to plan within the political system, so there’s no need for early elections.

With regard to the stability of the administration, Tarar said he was confident that the assemblies would effectively fulfil their assigned five-year term, provided that God’s will is satisfied. After much debate and speculation on the political environment and the possibility of early elections, he made this comment.

Tarar also diverted enquiries concerning claims of inciting hostility between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to Omar Ayub, suggesting that he should be contacted for any answers on this subject.

The Federal Minister for Law has taken a firm stand that should allay any doubts about the election calendar and guarantee that the government and the constitution will always come first. In addition to strengthening the government’s willingness to uphold the assembly’s term’s constitutional integrity, the assurance is meant to promote political stability and continuity.
