Bail is granted post-arrest to former AJK premier Sardar Tanveer Ilyas.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was granted bail by Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah in exchange for a Rs100,000 surety bond, and the FIA was directed to release him.
During the hearing today, the accused’s bail was denied by the judge despite the FIA team’s presentation of the record, and the accused was granted his freedom.
It has been alleged that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, after resigning as premier, retained his diplomatic passport.
During the previous hearing, the FIA prosecutor informed the court that the former prime minister, AJK, had broken the law by using his diplomatic passport to travel to Saudi Arabia after he left office.
He said that despite having his diplomatic passport canceled, Ilyas had neglected to return it.
The former prime minister of AJK was earlier taken into custody in connection with an assault on an office of a firm.
Sources claim that he attempted to take control of the situation.
