Bannu, Karak, thwarts terror strikes, killing three

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police have effectively prevented terrorist assaults in the districts of Bannu and Karak.
According to a police spokeswoman, terrorists attempted to strike the Mazang checkpoint after first targeting the Miriyan Police Stations.
He said that a successful approach prevented the attack on the Miryan police station in less than 20 minutes.
The official went on to say that an hour-long gunfight broke out when scores of terrorists used heavy weapons to attack the Mazang checkpoint.
The terrorists were forced to flee when the police killed three of them and wounded four more, taking their accomplices’ remains with them.
Three police officers were also hurt during the gunfight.
The terrorists were forced to evacuate after security personnel valiantly fought off an attack on a Karak police station.
