Budget 2024–2025: a “proposed” 357% rise for the IT sector
The development budget for the Ministry of IT is Rs 27.43 billion, of which Rs 6.28 billion is designated for 15 new projects, according to sources.
Also, the government has suggested setting aside Rs 3.5 billion for the Digital Economy program and Rs 21.15 billion for ongoing projects.
In addition, the national legislature has been given Rs 50 million for digitalization, Rs 300 million for smart office projects in government agencies, and Rs 1 billion for innovation in the IT sector.
Additionally, Rs 9.92 billion has been suggested by the government for the Islamabad Technology Development Park and Rs 6.78 billion for the creation of an IT park in Karachi. The Cybersecurity Fund for Digital Pakistan project is proposed to receive Rs 1 billion from the budget.
In a different event, the federal government declared that the budgetary allotment for education has increased to an unprecedented level.
The astonishing Rs 20.25 billion allotted to the education sector for the budget 2024–25 was declared by the Planning Commission.
The budget 2024–25, which was originally supposed to be presented on June 10, is likely to be presented on June 12, it is important to note here.
Sources stated that following the council meeting on June 10, the Pakistan Economic Survey 2023–24 will be delivered on June 11.
