CDA Requests Offers to Construct the Biggest IT Park in Pakistan
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started the leasing process for a grey structure in G-10 Markaz, Islamabad, with the intention of turning it into a cutting-edge IT park.
The structure is 3.3 acres, or more than 97,000 square feet, under cover.
This move follows the approval by the CDA board of the largest IT park in the region to be established in Pakistan.
Businesses are requested to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the CDA if they are interested in leasing the site for the first fifteen years. The selected tenant will be in charge of turning the drab building into a state-of-the-art IT park that conforms with international standards and industry best practices.
It is required of potential partners to have a reputable and experienced background in the sector, either as independent organizations or through joint ventures. The proposed IT park will offer a wide range of services, including shared co-working spaces, incubators for startups, office spaces for SMEs, research centers, auditoriums, recreational facilities, and more, to suit the different needs of technology enterprises and their employees.
According to the leasing guidelines, the gray edifice will be rented out “As Is,” and bidders must offer for the entire 3.3-acre plot of property. With both parties’ permission and the CDA’s Competent Authority’s clearance, the initial fifteen-year lease may be extended for an additional five years. The monthly minimum rent payment is approximately 16,581,813 rupees.
The deadline for interested parties to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) is April 30, 2024. International companies and partnerships are encouraged to take part in this initiative by the CDA.
