China and Pakistan sign $4 billion deals for agricultural cooperation.

Over $4 billion worth of deals have been signed between China and Pakistan with the goal of revolutionising the country’s agricultural industry.
The historic agreements, which represent one of the biggest bilateral farming investments, were concluded at the recent Pakistan-China Agricultural Investment Conference.
Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, called the development a historic breakthrough that will be a pillar of the country’s economic resiliency and food security. He claimed that by bringing cutting-edge innovation and technology, the accords may completely alter Pakistan’s agricultural landscape.
24 important memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed by the two nations, with an emphasis on topics including smart agriculture initiatives, seed development, and contemporary agricultural technology. It is anticipated that these programs will provide technology-driven solutions to Pakistan’s farming industry, increasing productivity, crop yields, and sustainability.
Accurate farming
Precision agriculture will allow for data-driven decision-making, which might significantly boost productivity, according to Rana Tanveer Hussain. He highlighted that increased production would not only meet Pakistan’s domestic food demands but also increase the nation’s capacity to boost agricultural exports internationally.
The minister also met with representatives of GDSP, Sanyang, and Jinghua Seed, some of China’s top agricultural enterprises, during the conference. The businesses demonstrated their faith in Pakistan’s agricultural potential by expressing a strong desire for long-term collaborations.
Opportunities for exporting
China purchases $215 billion worth of agricultural commodities every year, and Pakistan can deliver these goods at more affordable pricing than international markets, according to Rana Tanveer Hussain. He characterised this collaboration as a fantastic chance for Pakistan to access one of the biggest agricultural markets globally.
He added that the Pakistan-China agricultural collaboration has taken a new turn thanks to policies implemented to support agricultural sectors under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
Strategic collaboration
The minister claimed that these accords would improve trade and food production while fortifying Pakistan’s long-term strategic ties with China. He emphasised that the two countries’ long-standing alliance currently relies heavily on agriculture.
