Cold winds from Balochistan drive Karachi’s temperature into single digits.
Karachi saw a significant decrease in temperature today, reaching a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius, indicating a marked intensification of chilly conditions.
This cold snap has been ascribed to frigid winds from Balochistan, which have markedly decreased the apparent temperature in the city.
The Meteorological Department reports that the perceived temperature is 2 to 4 degrees lower than the actual temperature, attributed to northeast winds blowing at rates of 5 to 15 kilometers per hour.
The winds have generated a penetrating cold, especially in the morning, when visibility was reported to be restricted to merely 3 kilometers due to light fog.
The meteorological agency has predicted that Karachi will persist in experiencing cold and arid conditions for the forthcoming 24 hours. The city is anticipated to reach a maximum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may decline to 8 degrees Celsius.
