Constitutional Bill: Government summons legislators from abroad prior to October 15
The political parties are now engaged in consultations and public debates regarding the 26th constitutional amendment under consideration.
Numerous senators and a significant number of National Assembly members are now abroad, according to sources. “Sources indicated that over 10 treasury lawmakers are currently abroad.”
Sources indicated that PML-N’s Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and senior Syed Khursheed Shah of the People’s Party are among the MNAs currently outside Pakistan. “Senator Rana Mehmood ul Hassan of the People’s Party, BAP’s Dinesh Kumar, PML-Q’s Hussain Illahi, and Senator Abdul Qadir have all undertaken foreign visits.”
Bilawal Bhutto, Chairman of the People’s Party, stated, “Had I been the law minister, I would have endeavored to enact the constitutional amendments prior to October 25.”
“The government, considering the circumstances, is unequivocally determined to enact the amendments promptly,” he stated.
“We seek a consensus regarding constitutional amendments, and the government is also awaiting it,” he stated.
“The final decision regarding the appointment of the head judge of the constitutional court remains pending,” he added.
