The cost of Karachi’s K-4 project increases to Rs126 billion from Rs25 billion.
To increase the city’s daily water supply, the province and federal governments are working together to create the K-4 municipal infrastructure project.
It was during today’s Sindh Assembly session that Saeed Ghani disclosed the K-4 project’s cost hike.
The K-4 water project, according to Ghani, is a massive undertaking that will be finished in April 2027. Midway through 2019, the project was supposed to be finished.
The minister stated that the previous federal government of PTI had “stopped” funding for the project, and that the federal government had “stopped” funding again when the project’s cost had risen to an all-time high.
He stated that the Hub dam will be used to remove another canal.
The massive project has seen continuous delays, and since building costs have skyrocketed over time, its current completion cost is an astounding Rs 150 billion.
It is anticipated that project costs will rise over time due to the Pakistan Rupee’s steady decline in value.
