Demand for new elections is reiterated by Fazlur Rehman.
The establishment must maintain its neutrality during polls, Maulana Fazlur Rehman told reporters, emphasizing the need of free and fair elections.
He went on to say that the only way to salvage Pakistan was to hold fresh elections. Additionally, the JUI-F chairman criticized the present administration, saying that it is not legitimate because it was established under a “fake” mandate.
Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was arrested. Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that “political” prisoners had to be freed.
The JUI-F head addressed the 26th constitutional amendment, stating that originally contained 56 sections, but his party reduced that number to 27.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed that the government would have purchased 11 votes if the JUI-F had not taken part.
According to Rehman, JUI’s attempts to change the constitution and advance legitimacy have been successful. He also said that PTI’s internal problems caused them to abstain from voting.
The JUI-F leader had earlier called for new elections, claiming “widespread rigging and irregularities,” and rejected the results of the general elections in 2024.
According to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who was speaking at a public event in Karachi, assemblies were “sold.” He also mentioned that President House and Sindh Assembly had been auctioned.
Re-elections must be held immediately, the JUI-F chairman insisted, in order to preserve the democratic process.
“The results are unacceptable, and the recent elections were a hoax,” he continued. For the people’s voice to be heard and their mandate to be upheld, the JUI chairman called for new elections.
In addition, Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the federal government’s foreign policy, including its position on Israel and Palestine. He claimed that we were being punished for opposing Israel and backing Palestine.
“We’re being punished for attempting to promote better ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan.”
The constitution is the only way for the country to be governed, according to Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
According to him, the JUI-F’s fight will not end in a day or a month, and their descendants will carry on the fight.
