Due to smog, LHC issued a new directive for schools.
While hearing petitions on the smog problems and solutions, LHC Justice Shahid Karim issued the orders.
In order to alleviate congestion, especially in view of the smog problem, the LHC also instructed the Director-General of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to examine the city’s highways and provide a traffic plan.
While acknowledging the government’s efforts to combat smog, Justice Shahid Karim emphasized the significance of efficient enforcement. “There should be no more delay because environmental protection is a very serious issue,” he said.
Secretary of School Education Khalid Nazir introduced suggested regulations for private schools during today’s proceedings. All new schools will have to offer transportation to their kids under the new policy, which will only permit schools that run buses to register.
“The issue of school buses is very serious,” said Justice Karim, underscoring the need to expedite the implementation of all orders prior to the upcoming season.
The Court called for prompt corrective action in response to the absence of enforcement of traffic laws along Multan Road’s housing societies and bus stations.
