During the Zapad military exercises, Russia launched a hypersonic cruise missile called the Zircon (Tsirkon) at a target location in the Barents Sea, according to a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense on Sunday.

“According to objective monitoring data received in real time, the target was destroyed by a direct hit,” according to the government announcement.
