The ECP withheld its decision regarding Nawaz’s NA-15 Mansehra electoral appeal.
Regarding Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), asking to be reelected in NA-15 Mansehra, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has deferred its judgement.
A hearing on the request of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif concerning National Assembly Constituency NA-15 Mansehra was held before the ECP. Captain (Retd) Safdar was present, and the former prime minister’s attorney, Jahangir Jadoon, presented arguments to the commission during the hearing.
Jahangir Jadoon informed the panel during the hearing that the matter will now be on the record of the RO report. On February 15, the PML-N had sought the RO report, and we were given the 650-page document.
Jahangir Jadoon stated that the RO’s report showed that Nawaz Sharif, the petitioner, received over 82,000 votes, the opposition received over 105,000, and 9082 ballots were rejected. There were 550 voting places in all. We did not get the results from 123 polling places, and the presiding officer did not provide us with Form 45.
Jahangir Jadoon, Nawaz Sharif’s attorney, asked for reelection in NA-15 Mansehra at the hearing.
