Election 2024 results are rejected by JUI-F and PTI.
The results of the general elections in 2024 have been disputed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Moulana Fazalur Rehman, the head of JUI-F, received a PTI team led by Asad Qaiser, including with members Amir Dogar, Barrister Saif, Fazal Muhammad, and Umair Niazi, at his home to deliver the message of the party founder.
Both parties discussed the widespread manipulation that was allegedly done in the most recent General Elections, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
The PTI delegation and Maulana Fazalur Rehman both voiced grave concerns over the election outcome.
After the meeting, Hafiz Hamdullah, a representative of JUI-F, and Barrister Saif, a representative of the PTI, spoke to the media and said that both sides agreed that the actual mandate of the people was “usurped” on February 8.
“Today, we reached a consensus that the elections lacked transparency,” Hafiz Hamdullah continued. We’ll decide what to do next based on it.
The two parties, who are political rivals, appear to have come together over their shared worry over purported electoral fraud and anomalies.
Asad Qaiser had said earlier in the day that he had been assigned the responsibility of liaising with political organisations such as the JUI-F, ANP, Aftab Sherpao’s party, and others following his meeting with the party founder in prison.
On February 13, the PTI founder made it clear that his party will not negotiate government formation with the PML-N, PPP, and MQM-P during a casual conversation with the media at Adiala Jail, where he is being held in connection with crimes involving Toshakhana, Cipher, and an unlawful nikah. He did point out, though, that he had given his party leaders orders to start talking to other political parties.
