Exams for Intermediate Part 2 start; 194,645 students are registered.
Around 194,645 students from 567 test centers have registered for the annual Intermediate Examinations Part 2 held by the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The examination controller announced that the subjects being tested today are psychology, nursing, and food and nutrition. She also mentioned that teams from monitoring and enforcement will be conducting raids in the testing centers located in Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Nankana Sahib.
Exams scheduled for April 20 and 22 have been postponed, according to the controller, because of the approaching by-elections for national and provincial assembly seats. In order to accommodate the election process, these papers will now be held on May 23 and May 25, respectively.
Rana Sikandar Hayat, the minister of education for Punjab, pledged that there would be “zero cheating” this time and underlined the government’s commitment to holding transparent exams. He asserted that the “booti mafia” had virtually disappeared as a result of a crackdown and threatened to sentence the “cheating mafia” to two years in prison for endangering the education of future generations of students.
In addition, the minister declared that exams would no longer be conducted in smaller locations and that the mafia would continue to crack down on cheaters. Hayat additionally declared that private invigilators would be completely prohibited, that examination centers would have security cameras installed, and that non-bailable measures would be added to combat the “cheating mafia.”
He continued the fight against cheating syndicates and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process by saying, “Those arrested will be punished and fined heavily.”
