“Fix your own domestic problems, don’t lecture us,” Afghanistan to Pakistan

Pakistan asked the Afghan interim government (AIG) to concentrate on resolving its own internal issues rather than lecture a democratic nation on Monday, vehemently rejecting a statement released by the Afghan foreign ministry about the political climate in the nation.

Foreign Office spokeswoman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch called the statement issued by the Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesperson on Sunday “frivolous” and “deplorable,” characterizing it as “unacceptable” and “deplorable” meddling in Pakistan’s internal affairs.

AIG should prioritize inclusivity, address the needs and aspirations of its own people, including the right of women and girls to education, rather than restricting those rights through misguided religious interpretation, the spokesperson said. “Instead of lecturing a democratic country, the AIG should focus on fixing its own domestic problems.”

She stated that in addition to fulfilling its obligations to the international community, the AIG should keep Afghanistan from turning into a hub for international terrorism and refuse sanctuary to terrorist organizations that pose a major threat to the safety and security of the neighboring nations.

Reiterating that Pakistan is still dedicated to regional peace, discussion, and collaboration, the spokesperson said that all nations—including Afghanistan—should uphold the fundamental principles of responsible international behavior and interstate relations.
