Following CM Maryam Nawaz’s instruction, Punjab installs a drone surveillance system to keep an eye on brick kilns.

The Punjab government has implemented a new drone surveillance system for the first time to keep an eye on brick kilns throughout the province, under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that 112 brick kilns along the highway were inspected. Of these, 77 kilns were discovered to be producing white smoke, 34 were determined to be non-operational, and just one was found to be producing black smoke.
Kiln chimneys are monitored by the EPA force around-the-clock. There is no discrimination in the application of the zero-pollution policy. Motorway users are encouraged to contact 1373 to report any kilns that are spewing black smoke. The EPA force will then take prompt action.
The EPA force and kiln owners were complimented by Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, who said that their commitment will be very helpful in reducing environmental pollution.
