Following stakeholder input, PTA releases the updated draft FSS license.

ISLAMABAD All parties who participated in the consultation process for the proposed Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) license in February 2025 were thanked by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) for their insightful comments.

PTA claims that every submission was carefully examined and that the necessary changes were made to the draft license in accordance with the Telecom Act, pertinent policies, and regulatory frameworks.

For stakeholder reference through September 19, 2025, the revised draft FSS license is currently available on the PTA website.

After this review period, the Authority will formally approve the final license, which will then be posted on the PTA website.

Amid accusations of a data leak aimed at users, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had denied breaches within its licensed sector.

In a statement released on Tuesday, PTA clarified that it does not own or control subscriber data, which is the exclusive property of licensed carriers.

“An initial review reveals the reported datasets include family details, travel records, vehicle registrations, and CNIC copies indicating aggregation from multiple external sources, not telecom operators,” the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority added.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority reaffirmed that no violations were discovered in the licensed sector during its assessments.
