For three weeks, PIA suspends flights to Canada.

A spokesman for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) stated on Friday that the company has temporarily halted its flights to Canada this month.

The carrier’s long-range Boeing 777 aircraft, which are essential for non-stop transatlantic flights, are undergoing planned maintenance at the time of the decision.

In order to guarantee aircraft preparedness for the anticipated spike in passenger volume next month, PIA emphasized that the suspension is only temporary.

The representative said that PIA’s fleet of Boeing 777 long-range planes can fly across the Pacific Ocean for up to 17 hours straight. A thorough three-week inspection process that involves technical assessments and the replacement of vital parts will be performed on each of these specialized aircraft. In order to maintain international safety standards, this essential operation must be carried out once every ten years.

In order to maintain the aircraft’s airworthiness for lengthy nonstop flights, the airline added that the continuous work entails stringent testing and part replacement. Officials emphasized that the maintenance timetable was purposefully planned to prevent any disruptions during the next peak travel season.

Although PIA expressed regret to passengers for any difficulty the suspension may have caused, it reaffirmed that safety and the overall condition of its aircraft continue to be its top priorities. The airline promised that this short-term step will set up its fleet for more seamless operations in the upcoming months, particularly when travel demand is predicted to increase significantly.
