Four defendants in the corruption case in Kohistan are looking for a plea deal.

Four defendants have requested a plea deal from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection with a $40 billion corruption investigation in Kohistan.

Qaiser, the head clerk of the Communication and Works (C&W) department, and three other people—including his wife—who have been identified as his benami (proxy) partners are among the accused.

According to sources, the accused have stated that they are willing to repay the money that was obtained illegally in order to resolve the allegations.

The accused have indicated that they are willing to pay back the money owing to the national exchequer in their plea bargain applications. Before reaching a conclusion, the Bureau will now review the accused’s assets and financial data.

According to the NAB’s investigation into the case, Qaiser and his co-conspirators embezzled large quantities of money in Kohistan under the pretense of development projects.

However, these initiatives don’t actually have any physical infrastructure; they simply exist on paper. Furthermore, according to the inquiry, Qaiser amassed a substantial amount of wealth through these fraudulent schemes, acquiring both moveable and immovable assets under his, his wife’s, and other relatives’ identities.

According to sources, the Bureau may move forward with the plea deal following a thorough examination of the case and available assets and with the chairman of the NAB’s consent.

The outcome of asset verification and the return of the embezzled money, however, still determine the ultimate judgment.
