Four people connected to human smuggling are arrested by the FIA
Due to their suspected participation in fraud and human smuggling, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested four individuals on Sunday, including a former Punjab police officer.
The operation was carried out in Jalalpur Jattan by the FIA’s anti-human trafficking squad, which resulted in the arrest of Hassan Butt, a former Punjab police officer.
Butt has been helping to transport persons illegally to Turkey and Europe, the FIA official said.
Butt was not the only individual targeted by the operation, the spokeswoman disclosed. “We also apprehended a smuggler named Madah, who was accused of charging Rs 3 million to send a citizen to Malaysia through unlawful means,” said a spokeswoman.
The FIA arrested two suspects in another investigation who had committed fraud by pretending to be representatives of a Saudi corporation.
The defendants, Sikandar and Mahboob, had defrauded people of Rs 66 million by pretending to grant business permits.
