France and Pakistan decide to increase collaboration in a number of areas.
Through business-to-business exchanges, Pakistan and France have decided to strengthen their cooperation in the fields of clean drinking water, livestock, information technology, agriculture, and skill development.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and French President Emmanuel Macron met today on the fringes of the One Water Summit in Riyadh and came to an agreement to this effect.
Both presidents reaffirmed their mutual willingness to continue to be actively involved in all regional and international problems that are of common importance.
The two leaders discussed collaboration at multilateral organizations, such as the United Nations, and the entire range of the Pakistan-France relationship, including political, economic, trade, and investment aspects, while expressing pleasure with its good trajectory.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized in his speech the importance of further enhancing the two nations’ mutually beneficial trade and economic ties and urged France to seize investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in the fields of renewable energy and climate adaptation.
The prime minister expressed gratitude for President Macron’s steadfast support of the people of Pakistan following the disastrous floods of 2022 and praised France’s leadership on climate change and development concerns.
President Macron was also commended by Shehbaz Sharif for co-hosting the One Water Summit in Riyadh.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during the water meeting.
The PM Office stated in a statement that the two leaders reaffirmed their resolve to bring about a significant change in the bilateral ties during their meeting.
The significance of changing their economic, trade, and investment relationship on a qualitative level was emphasized by both presidents.
