Gilani claims that the Israeli attack on Qatar is a grave breach of the UN Charter.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, the Senate’s chairman, harshly denounced the Israeli bombing on Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Tuesday, calling it an obvious act of aggression intended to undermine regional peace and stability.

According to the Chairman’s statement, this blatant and cowardly attack on Qatar is a grave breach of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, which forbids the threat or use of force against a state’s political independence or territorial integrity.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani added that the attack on Doha is a rash attempt to destabilize the Gulf and jeopardize international peace in addition to being a breach of Qatar’s sovereignty. He pointed out that Israel’s antagonistic behavior demonstrates its contempt for humanitarian standards and international law once more.

Gilani emphasized that in order to defend the interests of the Muslim Ummah as a whole and to oppose Israel’s aggression, Muslim states must unite and implement a comprehensive and successful strategy.

He further emphasized how Israel’s breaches of human rights are not limited to Palestine, where it still targets defenseless populations, but are now endangering the entire region and endangering international stability.

The Senate Chairman called on the international community—especially the UN and UN Security Council—to pay prompt attention to Israel’s activities and guarantee that tangible measures be taken to put an end to its aggression.

He underlined that as long as Israel persists in violating international law, threatening regional peace, and putting innocent lives in jeopardy, the world cannot be quiet.
