Governor Kundi forbids the selling of KP University property.
The Peshawar High Court’s stay order on the sale or leasing of university land in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the source of this decree, according to specifics.
To ensure that no action is taken regarding the sale or lease of land, the Principal Secretary has sent formal instructions to every university in the province.
It was stressed by Governor Kundi that as long as he serves as Chancellor, no university will be permitted to sell even a single square inch of its property.
Accusing the party of destroying already-existing universities, Kundi attacked the party that had earlier suggested turning the President’s House and the Prime Minister’s House into universities.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)’s largest university encountered financial difficulties last year.
Lack of funding also resulted in the university’s inability to pay staff wages and the cancellation of initiatives.
Because the Higher Education Commission (HEC) withheld the whole budget and students failed to pay their tuition on time, the university administration was left with an unmet debt of Rs 300 million for salaries and pensions.
The protest by the workers cost Rs 200 million, according to the Vice Chanceller (VC). With salary payments reliant on student fee submission, the university was looking at a loss of Rs 350 million.
