Hearings on civilian military trials are underway before the Supreme Court.

The intra-court appeal against the civilian military trials was heard by Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Monday.

Under the leadership of Justice Aminuddin Khan, a seven-member constitutional bench is overseeing the case. Jamal Mandokhail, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Musarrat Hilali, Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Shahid Bilal Hassan are among the justices on the bench.

Arguments are currently being made by Uzair Bhandari, the attorney for former prime minister Imran Khan. In the previous hearing, Latif Khosa, the attorney for Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, had finished his arguments.

Salman Akram Raja, who represented Arzam Junaid, a military court convict, and Khawaja Haris, the Ministry of Defense’s attorney, have also ended their arguments. Khawaja Ahmad Hussain has already completed his arguments on behalf of the petitioner.

Notably, the Martyrs’ Foundation, Punjab, Balochistan, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Law, and the federal government have all sided with the reasons put up by Khawaja Haris, the counsel for the Ministry of Defense.
