IDEAS 2024, the 12th defence show, opens at the Karachi Expo Centre.
On Tuesday, the Karachi Expo Centre hosted the opening of the 12th edition of the defence expo and seminar, known as IDEAS 2024.
The museum has been set up to display a variety of both conventional and modern defence vehicles, weapon systems, and equipment. Experts in international defence are very interested in the IDEAS 2024 show.
A priority of the Special Investment Facilitation Council is defence exports and production.
When DG Rangers Sindh Major General Shamriz arrived at the expo, he went to several booths that displayed Sindh’s military prowess. He examined contemporary drones and weapons, as well as armoured vehicles.
The personnel gave Major General Shamriz a thorough briefing on the technology on exhibit.
With 330 delegates from 55 nations, the expo also included military and international commercial delegations.
Pakistan’s defence industrial potential is highlighted by Khawaja Asif during the IDEAS Exhibition.
International participants were greeted by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif at the IDEAS defence exhibition, who emphasised the event’s importance as a forum for discussing technical issues and promoting regional and international cooperation.
According to Khawaja Asif, “the delegates from around the world will gain valuable insights and opportunities through this exhibition,” which will also act as a regional gateway for defence cooperation.
Stressing the need of public-private partnerships in advancing defence production and increasing exports to bolster the economy, he emphasised Pakistan’s expanding defence sector. “Pakistan’s economy is moving towards positive indicators, and there are immense opportunities for investment and joint projects,” said the minister.
According to the defence minister, Pakistan is a responsible country that plays a vital role in preserving world peace, reaffirming the country’s commitment to world peace. Regional peace, social progress, and economic growth depend on communication and improved ties.
He said the IDEAS expo would help Pakistan become a centre for innovation and cooperation in the defence industry while also improving the nation’s defence production capabilities.
Pakistani education reform and innovation are priorities for Ahsan Iqbal.
Speaking at the event, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal emphasised how crucial it is to update Pakistan’s educational system to reflect current international standards.
He underlined that curricular changes were meant to improve instruction rather than stir up debates.
“We must focus on equipping our students with intellectual thinking and preparing them for rapid global changes,” stated the minister. He raised concerns that no province placed in the high category, with 77 districts doing poorly, citing a recent education assessment from 134 districts. He also brought attention to instances of cheating, pointing out that high board scores did not often correspond with district performance as a whole.
The difficulties in carrying out Vision 2025, which included important initiatives including curriculum revisions, teacher preparation, and examination system modernisation, were covered by Ahsan Iqbal. He said that although the Islamabad Board has made strides, the provinces are still lagging behind and that “the Ministry of Education has failed to deliver on these initiatives over the past eight years.”
He restated that the advancement of education in Pakistan depends on updating the curriculum, updating tests, and guaranteeing teacher preparation. “The real challenge for any country is bringing innovation in education, and it is our responsibility to lead this change,” said him.
