Imran Khan’s disqualification and intra-party election issues will be heard before the LHC.

Hearings on petitions contesting the disqualification of former prime minister Imran Khan and matters pertaining to intra-party elections have been scheduled by the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Cases will be heard tomorrow (Friday) by a five-member panel led by Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza. Both sides’ attorneys have been called by the court to present their cases.

In a petition contesting his disqualification, Imran Khan said that the Election Commission lacked the jurisdiction to do so because it was not a court.

Requesting that the LHC overturn the Election Commission’s judgment, the petition alleged that the disqualification decision was unconstitutional.

According to PTI’s second plea, the poll Commission’s repeated poll notices were unlawful and unconstitutional, and the party had already had intra-party elections. PTI has asked that the notices be deemed null and void by the LHC.
