In areas affected by flooding, COAS advocates for swift development and coordinated action.

Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), emphasized the importance of coordinating civil-military operations in tackling the difficulties faced by areas affected by flooding.

To assess the current flood situation and ongoing relief activities, the field marshal traveled to Kasur Sector and the Flood Relief Camp in Jalalpur Pirwala, Multan.

The goal of the visit to Kasur and Multan’s flood-affected areas was to improve military-civilian coordination in order to provide the impacted populace with efficient aid. Senior civil administration officials, including Punjab’s chief secretary, were also in attendance.

A thorough briefing on the situation on the ground, including information about the rescue and relief efforts taking place in the flood-affected districts, was given to COAS during the visit.

He emphasized the value of inclusive, people-centered progress and good government while speaking with civil administration. He emphasized that all necessary steps, such as building the infrastructure needed to shield the populace from the destruction brought on by periodic floods, should be taken as soon as possible. According to him, the state cannot afford to lose valuable people and property each year.

He reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s steadfast commitment to supporting all activities aimed at public welfare and emphasized the importance of integrated civil-military cooperation in resolving the difficulties encountered by communities affected by flooding.

COAS promised flood victims who had been safely evacuated by the Pakistan Army and civil government that they would continue to receive assistance with their rehabilitation and resettlement. The impacted individuals conveyed their sincere appreciation to the Pakistan Army for providing prompt support during a crucial moment.

Additionally, COAS met with police officers, members of Rescue 1122, and soldiers involved in relief efforts. He praised their strong morale, operational preparedness, and unwavering commitment to serving the country in the face of great adversity. In order to give the people immediate relief and aid, he praised their 24-hour efforts that were closely coordinated with civil administration.

In order to evaluate the extent of the damage and the current rescue efforts, the army commander also conducted an airborne reconnaissance of the flood-affected districts along the Multan-Jalalpur Pir Wala Axes and Lahore-Kasur.

The Field Marshal was welcomed by the Corps Commanders of the Lahore and Multan Corps, respectively, upon his arrival in flood-affected districts.
