In “controversial” social media remarks, the PTI founder “refuses” to cooperate with an FIA investigation.
The PTI founder was met by the FIA team after they arrived at Adiala Jail late at night.
Jail sources stated that the “founder of PTI also declined to respond to any inquiries from the FIA team.”
“As the founder of PTI responded to FIA, I will respond to any question in the presence of lawyers.”
The FIA team allegedly received the PTI founder’s position in writing, according to sources.
Earlier, the PTI founder was the subject of a letter from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Cell to the authorities asking to speak with him for “controversial” posts made on his social media X profile.
According to the letter’s wording, the Pakistan Army in particular was the focus of anti-state propaganda that was spread via the PTI founder’s official social media account.
The May 26 video was released with the intention of falsifying information, inciting disobedience among military personnel and officers, and causing instability across several state establishments.
The PTI founder’s admission to jail is being requested by the FIA Cybercrime Cell, which has expressed that this video clearly violates the PICA Act of 2016 and calls for additional inquiry.
