In November 2024, the Punjab Traffic Police issued more than 841,000 driver’s licenses.

According to the Punjab traffic police spokesperson’s performance report, the province saw notable advancements in license issuance in November.

According to the data, more than 841,000 driver’s licenses were granted in the province in November, including more than 243,000 learner licenses.

Additionally, the Punjab traffic police spokeswoman stated that 308,000 new driver’s licenses were granted at that time.

Including both regular and learner categories, about 284,000 licenses were extended.

More than 4,500 foreign driver’s licenses were granted to people, and licensing offices in key cities continued to operate around the clock, according to Additional IG Traffic.

Separately, rickshaw drivers have been granted driving licenses by the Punjab traffic police for an entire day.

The decision was made during a meeting between the Secretary of Transport and Additional IG Traffic.

The spokesperson stated that rickshaw drivers will take a special driving test every Sunday at approved licensing locations around the province in accordance with the agreement.

In 2023, Punjab set a new milestone by issuing more than 10 million driver’s licenses.
