In Pakistan, Ramadan is anticipated to start on March 2.

The birth of the new moon is predicted by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) for February 28, 2025, at 5:45 p.m. PST.
SUPARCO predicts that the new moon will be born on February 28, 2025, at 5:45 p.m. (PST). At sunset on that day, the moon will be 12 hours old and 5 degrees above the ground. It will be challenging to see the crescent because of its low altitude and distance. According to the speaker, the moon should be 19 hours old for any sightings.
“The angular distance between the moon and the sun will be 7 degrees, making the crescent invisible to the naked eye,” said the SUPARCO spokesperson.
These findings suggest that March 2, 2025, will mark the start of Pakistan’s holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is expected to begin in Saudi Arabia on March 1, 2025, as the crescent may be visible there on February 28.
In addition, SUPARCO predicts that Eid-ul-Fitr will occur on March 31 and that the Shawwal moon will be visible on March 30. “The final decision on moon sighting rests with the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee,” SUPARCO said.
