In the event of unauthorized recruitment, ATC gives Parvez Elahi a one-day exemption.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the former chief minister of Punjab, was granted a one-day leave of absence from the Punjab Assembly’s suspected illegal recruiting case by the Anti-Corruption Court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday.
The case against Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, Muhammad Khan Bhatti, the former principal secretary of the Punjab Assembly, and other defendants was heard by ATC Judge Javed Iqbal Warraich. Along with the other co-accused, Muhammad Khan Bhatti showed up in court and signed in.
Parvez Elahi’s one-day exemption from presence was requested during the hearing, and the court granted it.
Co-accused Mukhtar Ranjha’s attorney concluded the arguments for his client’s acquittal plea. At the subsequent session, the court called the remaining defendants to provide arguments regarding their acquittal applications.
Notably, acquittal petitions have already been filed by accused Ijaz, Haider Shafqat, Zohaib-ul-Hassan, and Mukhtar Ranjha.
Three of the accused, including Rai Mumtaz and Inayatullah Lak, were proclaimed offenders, the prosecution told the court. The judge postponed the hearing to November 6 and asked the prosecution for the absconding accused’s record.
