In the face of floods, Bilawal wants an agriculture emergency to help farmers.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said that farmers had been decimated by the recent floods and urged the prime minister to declare an agriculture emergency on Friday.

PPP leader Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed welcomed the PPP chairman as he visited the flood-affected districts in the Kasur district of Punjab.

He met flood victims and took a tour of the Talwar Post flood relief camp while there.

Sardar Saleem Haider, the governor of Punjab, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Hassan Murtaza, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and other party leaders were with Bilawal Bhutto.

During his visit to the relief camp, Bilawal showed his support for the impacted individuals.

He was briefed by the District Police Officer (DPO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) on the situation and relief efforts.

In an interview with the media, Bilawal claimed that Punjab had been the most severely affected by the floods, with extensive destruction in numerous regions.

He underlined that in order to help the impacted communities, both the federal and provincial governments must take action.

Bilawal said, “The Punjab government is working hard,” acknowledging the efforts of the state government. The tireless efforts of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and her team are commendable.

“We must forcefully support those affected by the floods. The floods have left farmers in ruins, so I implore the prime minister to proclaim an agricultural emergency right now,” he said.

All PPP representatives have been instructed to actively engage in relief operations, Bilawal added.

“We will face this natural disaster together,” he continued.

Bilawal criticised India, saying, “India has forgotten basic humanity.” They have broken the Indus Waters Treaty by failing to provide Pakistan with information about floods.
