In the first month of FY 2024–2025, FBR collected Rs 659.2 billion.
According to a news release from FBR here on Wednesday, the board has made reimbursements of Rs 77.9 billion.
The following amounts were collected during the month under review: Rs. 300.2 billion under Income Tax, Rs. 307.9 billion under Sales Tax, Rs. 37.4 billion under Federal Excise Duty, and Rs. 91.7 billion under Customs Duty.
Despite all of the nation’s economic difficulties, FBR has made a remarkable effort to meet the monthly tax target, indicating a positive start to the financial year 2024–25 in terms of revenue collection.

Malik Amjad Zubair Tiwana, the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), reportedly applied for an early retirement from the company.
Six months before she would have become eligible for superannuation, Tiwana has requested to retire with effect from August 15.
According to sources, the FBR chief sent the retirement request on Monday night to the finance minister and the prime minister’s office.
According to sources, Tiwana was not given any cooperation by the higher officers of FBR. During the caretaker administration, Amjad Tiwana was named FBR chief.
