In the midst of the national crisis, Sheikh Rashid calls for adherence to the constitution.

Former federal minister and leader of the Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said Thursday that he hoped Pakistan will uphold the law and the constitution.

Sheikh Rashid emphasized the country’s ongoing dilemma when speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, saying, “I pray for a positive outcome, but I do not foresee a solution that benefits Pakistan and its people.”

He also bemoaned the negative perception of Pakistan on the world stage and emphasized the importance of preserving the nation’s honor both at home and abroad. In addition, Rashid urged the government to allow Pakistanis living abroad to vote.

The former minister pointed out that because of the problem with military courts, their cases could not be heard at the Supreme Court today.
