India defeats Bangladesh by 41 runs to advance to the Asia Cup final.

With a decisive 41-run victory against Bangladesh in the Super Four round at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, India advanced to the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final and eliminated the tournament’s reigning champions, Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh’s choice to bowl first backfired as Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, India’s openers, quickly reached a 77-run partnership in seven overs.
Before falling to Rishad Hossain, Gill had hit a quick 29 off 19 balls, but Abhishek kept up the attack, hitting 75 off 37 deliveries with five sixes and six fours.
India faltered a little after he was run out in the 12th over, but Hardik Pandya (38 off 29) and Axar Patel stabilised the batting and increased the score to 168/6.
Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib each took one wicket, but Rishad was the best bowler for Bangladesh, getting 2/27.
Despite the heroics of Saif Hasan, Bangladesh collapses
Bangladesh struggled against India’s well-organised attack while chasing 169. With a heroic 69 off 51 balls, which included five sixes and five fours, opener Saif Hasan top-scored.
With Parvez Hossain Emon (21) for the second wicket, he added 42 runs, but the remainder of the batting order fell apart. The squad collapsed for 127 runs in 19.3 overs, with no other hitter from Bangladesh reaching double digits.
Kuldeep spearheads the bowling attack.
Kuldeep Yadav took 3/18 in his four overs, demonstrating the decisiveness of India’s spinners. Axar Patel and Tilak Varma each took one wicket, while Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy helped him with two wickets apiece.
The win eliminated Sri Lanka, who still have one match left, and guaranteed India a spot in the Asia Cup 2025 final. India’s final Super Four match against Sri Lanka is scheduled for this Friday; it will be a practice match for the 2016 winners but also a chance to improve before the championship match.
