Iran imports into Pakistan increased by 16 percent in FY2023–2024.
Sources within the ministry claim that from July to March 2023, 2023–24, Pakistan bought commodities worth $247 million from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to reports, Pakistan’s imports from Iran reached $95.6 million in March, up 25% from $104.2 million and $86.2 million in January and February, respectively.
During the specified time frame, Iran ranked as Islamabad’s tenth import supplier. According to supplementary sources, Pakistan’s imports from Iran were zero over the previous three fiscal years, but they increased in the fiscal year 2023–2024.
Currently, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is spending three days in Pakistan.
In an effort to strengthen cooperation in a number of areas, including trade, science and technology, agriculture, health, culture, and judicial concerns, Islamabad and Tehran inked eight agreements on diverse topics on Monday.
On the occasion of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s three-day official visit to Pakistan, the two nations signed the documents.
President Raisi and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif observed the signing ceremony between the delegates of both parties.
