It is necessary to move residents in Katcha regions to safer locations: Aseefa

Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, the First Lady of Pakistan and a member of the National Assembly, gave the relevant authorities instructions on Thursday to move people living in Katcha (riverine) areas to safer locations.

She made this statement while reviewing current safety and relief preparations at Mudd Bungalow and Mudd Mangli point, flood preparedness sites along the S.M. Bund. She went to the most vulnerable locations along the Indus River, where floods would result in significant harm.

The delicate embankments around the Indus River were explained to Aseefa Bhutto. In addition to stressing that no carelessness will be accepted during the flood scenario, she added that people of the Katcha areas should be moved to safe areas.
