JIT established to investigate suspects in the Karachi airport explosion
After questioning Gul Nisa and Muhammad Javed, the two detained suspects, the eight-member JIT will report back to the Interior Ministry in 15 days.
Officials from security agencies, Rangers, Special Branch, Karachi Police, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) make up the JIT, which is led by the Deputy Inspector General of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
Any investigation agency may be called upon to assist the JIT.
The arrest of Gul Nisa from Balochistan and Javed Nisa from Sindh, respectively, led to the creation of the JIT.
Two suspects were previously placed on a 10-day physical detention by a Karachi anti-terrorism court in relation to the recent explosion close to Karachi Airport.
The two accused, Javed and Gul Nisa, were brought before the court after their initial remand ended, according to the details. The investigating officer told the court that eyewitnesses had recognized Javed.
The suicide bomber targeted a group of Chinese people near the airport, and the authorities claim that the suspects helped him. The accused, according to the authorities, have ties to the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army.
The attack near Jinnah International Airport last month claimed the lives of two Chinese nationals and injured a number of others, according to the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.
Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, speaking at a joint press conference with IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon, praised the Sindh police’s Counter-Terrorism Department’s (CTD) prompt response in identifying the perpetrators and enablers of the attack on Chinese people.
The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the blast at the Karachi airport, according to Lanjar.
According to him, a bank employee named Bilal deposited Rs 7.1 million to a guy named Saeed’s bank account so that he could purchase the car needed for the attack in Karachi.
The vehicle may have been transported to Balochistan or any other location outside of Karachi for explosives after being taken from a Karachi showroom.
