Judge Munib leaves the SC bench to consider the Article 63-A review request.
Justice Munib Akhtar resigned from the bench. The case was scheduled to be heard by the larger bench, which included Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Munib Akhtar, Aminuddin Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, and Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel.
In a letter to the Supreme Court Registrar, Justice Munib stated his reasons for not being on the bench. His concerns on the Practicing and Procedure Committee’s reconstitution were also addressed in the letter.
After reading the final sentence of Justice Akhtar’s letter in court, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa postponed the hearing till tomorrow. Justice Munib Akhtar did not join the bench, despite the Chief Justice’s plea for his inclusion.
The case was heard by a four-member bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, who did not include Justice Munib.
The hearing was postponed till tomorrow after the Chief Justice denied Justice Munib Akhtar’s letter’s inclusion in the court file.
