Kamran Tessori wants the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Sindh to designate March 11th as a public holiday.

A public holiday on the 11th of Rabiul Awwal was proposed by Tessori in a letter that was addressed to Prime Minister Sharif and the Chief Minister of Sindh. The proposal was made at both the national and provincial levels. The governor noted in the letter that religious scholars had urged that the holiday be honored on this day during a meeting during which they were convening.

It was stressed by Kamran Tessori that the holiday would make it easier for devotees to take part in commemorations of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and other religious occasions.

Moreover, he noted that such a step would be a manifestation of collective respect for the occasion on the part of both the federal government and several province administrations.

That the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Sindh will take this idea into consideration was a hope voiced by the Governor.

In addition, Governor Tessori has written a letter to the Chairman of the Public Enterprise Management Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), encouraging him to ensure that cable operators refrain from broadcasting any entertainment content until the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, when Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is observed.

Additionally, the letter requested that the PEMRA issue this direction to all cable operators and media houses.

On the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, which is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, Muslims all around the world celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi, which commemorates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
