Karachi airport would ‘enforce’ rigorous entry requirements for visitors.
The new security standards were implemented in response to a terrorist attack on Chinese people near Karachi International Airport, which was carried out from within the airport.
According to information, individuals who come to see off or receive travelers at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi will be required to provide the ticket if queried by security authorities, with each passenger permitted a maximum of four companions.
Individuals who do not have a duplicate of their ticket would be denied admission to the Karachi airport.
Additionally, individuals receiving passengers must bring their own Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) for identification with the ticket.
According to airport authority officials, the implementation of the additional security measures will begin shortly.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, speaking at a joint press conference with IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon, praised the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh police for its quick response in locating the suspects and facilitators in the attack on Chinese citizens.
Lanjar stated that the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the Karachi airport bombing.
He claimed that Rs7.1 million was sent to a person named Saeed’s bank account through a bank employee named Bilal in order to purchase the vehicle used in the attack in Karachi.
The car was brought from a shop in Karachi and may have been moved to Balochistan or another location away from Karachi for explosives.
